"Kindness." Isn't it amazing what a little kindness can mean to someone when you show a little or what it can mean to you if someone shows you a little? I think in this day in time, kindness is less and less prevalent, even in the South! I always heard as a child that everybody didn't show kindness like the people of the South. I even experienced that while living in the state of Kansas, for 2 years. People ARE different. That's true. I'm not judging. But how hard is it, to put yourself out of the way, and actually think of others? Not too hard, however, we get so caught up in our little families that we forget about the other people less fortunate, or who may just be going through some "trials" and what a difference a little smile, or wave or just letting someone go ahead of you of line could make.
I find myself going through life sometimes, so preoccupied that I couldn't even tell you who just walked by or who I just met on the road.(and in Berry, you could know these things, it's not like it's some huge metropolis or something) Anyway, I've also noticed that if you do smile and speak to some people, they look at you like, "what is your problem?" It's really sad that our world has come to this point. I don't mean you have to hug and smooch everyone you see but just a little kindness.
I have been shown and taught the difference kindness can make through my life by my family. It really can make a difference and what a blessing to know and experience kindness from those around you. I've always tried to show myself friendly and kind, but sometimes you just want to say, why bother? Nobody cares. But, I've decided I'll not let ANYONE steal my joy or my smile. SO, if I see you today or tomorrow or whenever, and I give you a big smile and hello, please return the favor and then pass it on......."Kindness". Thank you Lord for your blessings on me.
