"Loners"

Levi and I are loners this week. I let my baby go to Nashville with Pop and Nana this week. What?! Yes, I did. I may be making a little road trip about Wed to get him but that's fine. We'll see. They are suppose to come back Friday. He may make it 'til then, he may not. I need a good excuse for a road trip anyway!ha He is really excited since "he's 5 now, he can do this stuff!" We do love Nashville and he already has his and Pop's agenda planned out. Hope he enjoys it. Levi said , "You better go while you can Bubba, cause school ruins EVERYTHING!!" Too funny.

Josh is gone a little farther north than Tennessee to Pennsylvania. He should be back Wed. or Thursday. Work related of course. So that leaves Levi and me! I had all these wonderful things planned to do, like reorganize closets, shop, catch up on laundry, shop, yard work, shop. But as I type, my little sidekick is still in the bed with a low grade fever. Starting this school year off already missing a day with fever. But that's ok, I wasn't really looking forward to the puking at practice today anyway, ha. No really, he usually gets a couple of sinus infections a year, we may just be starting a little earlier than normal this year. Hope you all have a great week. ROLL TIDE, BABY!!

Jamboree '09

OK, we made the weigh in!! YAY!! They celebrated with chips, candy, cheeseburgers and fries and yes a carbonated beverage!! Good Job, Levi and Isaac. Such discipline at such an early age! Josh was able to watch Isaac weigh and Adam got to watch Levi weigh. The whole team got to see them in their undies. Isaac was a little embarrassed. Levi however, stripped down and gave a big "Woo-Hoo"! They are hilarious. Levi did receive some giggles and laughs from his team mates, but he said he didn't care he just wanted to play some football! Well, all the excitement from the weigh in must have been enough excitement for the night. The game was awful!! We have a long way to go folks!! It looked as if they had never practiced 1 evening in their little 7 year lives. Poor things! However, Josh and Adam are done with the babying and ready to buckle down. Like I said, Poor Things!

We played Fayette and lost 12-0. Not a bad score but a really bad game! A lot to learn and a short time to get there. Let the puking begin.

BIG Day

Today is the big day! Official weigh in for Levi and his team mates. To my understanding, they put the boys in alphabetical order, line them up and if they look over 80 lbs. they pull them out to be weighed. I can tell you right now, Levi and Isaac will be pulled. They set the scale to 80 lbs. and if the little thing moves up and down and settles above 80 they can't run the ball. SO, say a little prayer for the boys and of course Josh and Adam, b/c if they don't weigh in our "Playbook" will be shot!ha No really, they have both been between 78-80 lbs. so we've been trying to limit the "unhealthy snacking" and I'm hoping and believing it has paid off. Wish them luck!! Go Pee-Wee Wildcats!!

1st Game will be Northside vs. Oakman and then we play Fayette. Should be interesting!!

Levi's Latest

Kids are so smart! We did our traditional bath, Bible story, prayer, hugs, kisses then lights out. Then all of a sudden, Levi asks a question that I have never thought of in my 34 years. We read about Jesus telling his Disciples about this death, burial and Resurrection. He then healed the blind man and that was the end of the story. But Levi's mind must have been working overtime. He said, "Now Momma, what about when Jesus was dead those 3 days, could he still help the people that needed him or how was they took care of?" Oh My Goodness. Good question, Son. However, I explained that in the beginning was God. He has always been so he could take care of everyone. He said, "So, Jesus didn't take care of people while he was dead, God did, now Jesus does again." OK, I think he got it but to be honest with you I had never thought about it before. Can you imagine what all goes through their little heads in a days time?! They are definitely smarter than we think.

"Do It Cute"

For those of you who don't know, Peyton and Marty have started a little web business. She has such cute stuff and is offering more and more everyday. She recently did a couple of tea towels for me and thought I would share with you. She has done name cards for me, also. Two sets for the boys and a couple of sets for me. These gifts are thoughtful AND affordable. Check their site out when you get a chance!

I had this towel done for the kitchen.

This towel for our bathroom.
She did this shirt for Houston.
This shirt for Levi.
One set of our cards.
I also had a pink toile set done. The boys have houndstooth with their names in red. Great for gifts and when you don't have a card, even better!

Party Time II

I finally got a camera that will take pics when you want it to and not 5 seconds later. I also took tons of pics trying it out. What I really liked were all the different expressions people make. Aren't you glad we are who we are and not just like everyone else?! God is amazing how he gives all different features, expressions, and gestures. I know there are alot of "Birthday Pics" but I love my boys!!

Houston and Levi think that Jacob and Caleb hung the moon! They love Leah so much, she has them SPOILED! They also love Samuel but he couldn't make it. You know you're pretty special to them also, when 2 teenagers and a Junior at UA come out on Saturday AM to a 5 yr old's party.

Marty, Peyton, and Lily Grace all the way from Brent.
I got tickled at this picture. Daddy and Beth are both saying, "Baalll." I also got tickled at this picture. Just what could be so interesting?! That would be Levi yelling, "Butt-Buster"!! And off the diving board he went. The cupcakes were a hit! I tried my hand at baking this year. The cake was nothing special but did taste good! I couldn't find a "G-Force" cake anywhere. So, I had to order cupcake rings and do cupcakes and make a small cake. It may not have been pretty but it was good!

The Birthday Boy made his wish and blew out the candle. He is so accustomed to getting "Hand-Me-Down Stuff" from Levi that he forgets that we do actually buy things for him. When I was looking for a "5" candle, he said "That's ok Momma, I can just use Bubba's". Bless his heart, I can spare $1 for "His very own "5" candle"!
He wanted a "Ntendo-DS" and so he got some games from others.

He looks like he is really reading this!
"WOW, a Dale Jr. remote control car!"
Some of the crew!
"What? what are you looking at?!"

G-Force Party TIme!!

We had a beautiful day, Saturday, to celebrate Houston's birthday. The kiddos swam, we had good ole' unhealthy party food and fun, fun, fun! Thanks to everyone who came. Houston is so precious and we are so grateful ya'll could enjoy this time with us. Have I mentioned before how much I love him?!:)

"Daddy, did you hear that?!" This child loves musical cards. Every time we go to Wal-Mart, the first place he wants to go is not the toys, but the cards!

My precious Grandaddy straight from the pea field! Couldn't miss his great grandson's party!:)

THANKS Nana and Pop for letting us use the pool! Houston had a choice of what kind of party and he chose pool party at Nana's!
The much dreaded birthday spanking!
And since he hasn't had one in a while, Josh grabbed Levi too!
Will have more pics on G-Force Party, Part II!

"Another Tooth Another Grown-Upper"

I awoke at 5:45 AM to, "Hey Momma, hey Momma. Come here I need you. I've got a surprise!" So I slowly woke up and thought what surprise could he possibly have this early. He doesn't get up for another hour or so. He repeated the message a couple of times and the whole time I was trying to shush him from waking Houston. He had turned the loft light on and was grinning from ear to ear. He had pulled another tooth! "Good job buddy. Are you still bleeding?" "No, Momma. There wasn't any blood." And there wasn't, not one drop. He said he "woke up with a toothache and thumped it a couple of times and it just fell right out!" So glad he didn't get choked. He wanted a baggie with the date on it and to put it under his pillow "before the sun comes up"! I persuaded him it was almost daylight and the tooth fairy wouldn't be around this time of night or morning or whatever time it was. "OK, we'll put in there tomorrow night." Then we snuggled and drifted off for about another hour.

When we got up of course the first thing out of his mouth was "Where's my tooth, Momma?" We went about our morning and on the way to school he said, "Momma, another tooth pulled means another grown-upper I am. Before you know it I'll be in High School and won't have no more teeth to pull." Why do they want to be more "grown-upper" so bad? At least, he still thinks the tooth fairy comes around and I'll not tell him any different until I absolutely have to!

Check out this cute, more grown-upper smile!

PeeWee Benefit Game

We had our first "game" this weekend. It was just a benefit game of PeeWee teams. The "real games" don't start until the 1st weekend of Oct. Levi LOVED it!! It was so amazing to watch him. When we got out of the truck he said,"Oh my goodness. This is the day I've dreamed of all my life. My first real football field game. I can't believe it! Momma, dreams really do come true." He was so serious and I was so wanting to laugh. The boy eats, lives and breathes ball!

Josh had to work Sat., so he rode over with Adam and Christy. The boys and I were already over in Millport for Ben's birthday party. Houston really enjoyed watching it too, but not as much as playing with Ben, Noah and Isaiah. He did make the comment, "Wow, my brother is awesome at football." So cute. He really looks up to Levi. We had a great day and no injuries. Levi did carry the ball twice for about 30 yds. He really tried hard. I think Levi is pretty awesome, too. But don't we all think our children are awesome?!

These are all pre-game pics. I've either got something wrong with my computer or blogger is messed up. Couldn't get any other photos to load. I know ya'll don't care about 50 pics of my boys at a football game but I just love sharing!

1st Day of 2nd Grade!

Thank the Lord, everything went well! He's a pro by now, he thinks. Woke up for shower, ate a good breakfast, bathed in cologne and body spray, brushed his teeth, a few pics and out the door. We got to school a little earlier than normal and he was ready for me to go just about as soon as we unloaded his stuff. Mrs. Davis was waiting and ready for them. Here's to a great year!

My handsome little man.

The walk.

The walk into his classroom.
The sweet smile of success. We finally made it to a point of no questions like, "But Momma, what are you gonna be doing today. What if I get sick?" No misty eyes, no sad expressions. 2nd Grade.
MAY THIS BE HIS BEST YEAR YET!!

1st PeeWee Practice in Pads

In the words of Levi, "It's on like a chicken bone!" The statement he made about Monday's practice. As he was getting ready for practice he was so excited and those were his words. He is such a boy!! He could not wait to get to practice. He loved it too! Do you know how hot it is?! I don't know how they stand it. But no complaining and he was eatin' up every minute of it. He really did a great job for his first time out. I was a little nervous but he acted like a natural and went to banging heads right off the bat. We will have another #22 Cannon playing on the BHS field in a couple of weeks. Their first game is Saturday at South Lamar, ALREADY! But he can't wait. Jamboree will be at Berry on the 29th. Should be fun!!

Houston and Noah are enjoying each other's company. They are climbing hills, playing ball and getting in to all kinds of stuff. They too, have their own pads and jerseys. Will post pics of them later!

Daddy(aka Coach Josh) getting Levi all suited up!

Ready for a water break.

What A Saturday!!

We had a wonderful day today! Slept in 'til 9:30 ate egg sandwiches and headed outside! I mowed the grass, Josh pressure washed and the boys played, played, played! We came in around 4:30. Daddy, Momma, Luke, MK, Ben and Beth came over around 5:00. Got quick baths and headed to Manasco's. YUMMO!! Then headed over to MawMaw Bozeman's for a little while. TIRED!! But loved this wonderful, beautiful, Saturday in the South.

The boys were "All Boy" today as usual. Played with the water hose, rode the golf cart, scooters, skateboards and played in the woods. They got a little creative and came up with a new contraption. They were so nasty and sweaty but they still manage to clean up so handsome. ha I know this sounds odd, but two of my favorite smells in the world. Sweaty little boys, knowing they have had fun and are healthy and able to be rambunctious little fella's and then the complete opposite of them fresh out of the bathtub! Clean, soft, fresh skin. 2 totally different smells but both make me happy!

Here's a few pics of their adventures today.
They were"Carpenters" for a while.
Next: "Inventors"

Now just what exactly would a 7 year old want with a Roaster Oven? Well, it wasn't the oven he wanted. His creative juices were flowing and he "Just needed the box, Momma, please?"
Well Picasso then needed "washable paint, just in case I make a mess" and a paintbrush.
He is proud of his work, thus far. But what could he be creating?
The final product. Why it's his very own "Critter Catcher, a bird trap really." Mighty creative don't you think? I was very surprised he came up with this idea and did it all on this own. The shop will never be the same again since he dug in everything trying to find "that thick brown string stuff".
Now what could this little one be doing? No, he's not washing the paint off the paint plate. This plate has now served 2 purposes. That would now have been used as a "Pee Plate". Yep, he peed in the plate then disposed of it. Why? I don't know. Not only creative juices flowing but looks like the apple juice from his snack was flowing too!

NEXT: Campers

So then they decided to camp out and wait for the critters!

I believe he found enough of that thick brown string stuff.
And if a critter just so happens to find their bread baited box, the campers will be prepared. He made a bow and arrow from the wood found while being carpenters and the brown string stuff while being inventors. This camping and critter catching was a lot of fun. I got on and off the lawn mower 10 -12 times trying to capture all these pics, but so glad I did!
