"Cool Clothes"

My oldest, he's growing up so fast. He has always been concerned about "his looks" but not extreme with it. Likes to "look cool" and smell good, but it's usually when we go to church or somewhere special. Always likes to get a shower, put on the cologne, body spray and give the hair one last brush before walking out the door. But this AM, he wanted to "wear some of my cool clothes, Momma." We usually sport the Old Navy clearance T-Shirts, Target or Wal-Mart Wranglers (cause you KNOW if Brett Favre advertises them, they're a must have for a 7 year old football fanatic), or the great and wonderful hand-me-downs (thanks to Kristi and Kimberly). But on this day, this wonderful rainy day in February, my boy wanted to wear cool clothes and cool shoes since they would be staying in the gym for PE, or so was the initial reason.

I have to admit, he looked spiffy, but then he threw this in. "Do I look good Momma? What about my "Love Gram" for Makenzie? Did you put that in my backpack, Momma? Are you sure she will think it's cool if I send her one?" Oh my stars, he's fixing up for his girl!! His sweet little 8 year old girlfriend (he and his Dad have a thing for older women!ha), Makenzie Wade. She is precious and a cutie pie but I can't believe my boy is thinking in this realm already! Help me Lord!

He chose a red heart for Mackenzie's love gram. I asked him what he wanted it to say. This is simply what he said....."So glad to have you as my Sweetheart.~ Love, Levi". Now, how sweet is that?! Pretty cool love language for a 7 year old, huh? Now just as long as he still thinks his Momma is great and continues to give me a big smack and hug when I drop him off, he can wear "cool clothes" for "his sweetheart" anytime.
