"PINKY-PROMISE"

As many of you know, boys take spells about being interested in girls and then at times they think their oh so gross! However, Levi has hit a spell lately that he's kinda "interested". Most of you know "Mack" Nelson.(Jason & Christi(Frost)Nelson). She and Levi have been in the same room for the last two years and have always been buddies. HOWEVER, last week he comes home w/ a piece of paper where she has written her phone# down. Sources tell me he also sent his home w/ her. He asked what one of the #'s were and I couldn't tell if it was a backwards 2 or just an odd 6, so I told him I didn't know and gave him the little speech about too young to call girls or vice-versa. Well, the next day he comes home with a more "legible" phone #. I reinforce again that we do not call girls. In a little while Levi goes missing and I catch a glimpse of him pacing on the front porch with the phone to his ear. I step out on the porch and he hits the "red button" faster than I could really say anything. I asked him who he was talking too and he said "Mack". I continued on with "You directly disobeyed me after I plainly told you we DO NOT call girls at this age."(Don't we somehow always end up sounding just like our parents?!!) He takes it all in and simply replies. "Yes Mam, but Momma....She made me pinky-promise." OK, already girls in his mind somehow trump his Mom, how is that possible? But Josh and I really got a kick out of it and thought it was so cute because he was sooooo serious about keeping his pinky promise. Later found out, that Christi and Jason told Mack she could get back w/him around 16!HA! I wondered what in the world they could have talked about and he said he just wanted her to come play one day or maybe swim one day. I know, I know, very innocent but VERY young!! We may have a real "Mack-Daddy" on our hands!
