Just wanted to share!

Read this today in my morning devotion. Liked it and just thought I would share.

  • To know Jesus is to love him.
  • To love him is to trust him.
  • To trust him is to obey him.
  • To obey him is to be BLESSED!!

SO simple, huh? Yet, so many choose to miss out on a truly blessed life!

Houston Humor

During the last game, the Reds were in to bat. "Momma, I gotta go pee reeeeally bad!" I motion to the trees, where we usually go. Who wants to hike all the way down to the nasty bathrooms when God gave little boys the perfect "outhouse?" Anyway, we head that way and he starts peeing. There is a tall weed that he is peeing on. "Momma, I think this is poison oak. If I pee on it, my pee might kill it!"
"Do you really think that will kill it? Maybe so, b/c you sure don't want poison oak of your pee-pee, huh?" He giggles.
"NO WAY, that would be bad......I think Daddy gots some poison oak on his pee-pee."
"What?"
"Yeah, I think he does cause he scratches his pee-pee all the time!" Laughter could be heard for miles around. Maybe a little TMI but too funny not to share!:)

UPDATES

It has been a while so I am very behind. Posted some last night and have more but needed all the beauty sleep I could get! I did backdate for my memory sake but think the updates go to the "Houston at Hubb" post. Will try, not promise, to do better, NANA!!:)

He's lost another one!!

Tooth #2~It's outta there!!
Houston said he "Almost pinky-promises, he saw the tooth fairy last time.":)

Turkey Season

Houston has begged to go turkey hunting with PePaw. Daddy told him after Levi got a chance for a turkey then he would take him. He did take Levi and they missed one SO Houston jumped at his chance. Daddy shot this turkey Tuesday afternoon. I can almost taste it. Love me some fried turkey!!

Daddy got so tickled at Houston. A long beard came out in the field with 2 hens. He said Houston leaned over and whispered, "PePaw that must be the long beard's girlfriend and the other one must be his ex!" What ?! Daddy said it was so funny. You never know what will come out of that child's mouth.

Levi's Field Trip to CHOM

Kids always love this place. We were members for a while, then school became so hectic and I didn't renew. Hadn't been in about a year and Levi loved being back. Mrs. Davis and I had the boys. What a great group!! I don't believe I've ever seen such a well behaved group of 7-8 year olds! We had lunch at Snow Hinton and played for a couple of hours before heading back to BES. Levi really enjoyed himself and I loved getting to go along as a chaperon.

Beaver's Den~ Mrs. Davis is SO great with these kiddos!

Levi and Isaac had everybody dancing to the beat of their drums.

Making a necklace in The Indian Village.
Believe it or not, these LOVED dressing up!!

Party Time!!

We celebrated Levi's birthday with a little Alabama baseball and a big spend the night party. The storms didn't allow us to take in much of the game but the boys were together and that's all that mattered. I had 9 little boys and with the help of Christy, Adam, KK, Nana and Pop, we were able to keep everybody in 1 piece. We enjoyed hot dogs, chips and drinks, cupcakes. All the boys got shakers, a ball and a poster. Levi got an autographed team ball and even got a foul ball. He was pumped!! Everyone was in bed by 1 AM and up by 7 AM!! We really had a great time considering the weather and looking forward to doing it again.

My Birthday Boy!!

Little Bubba

The crew~less Zac. He was already at the gate.
His "most favorite ball"!
Our extended family.:) I believe they all wanted their hot dog, different!ha
BEFORE the storm.
AFTER the storm. They did this about 2-3 times and then we decided to call it a night.

Houston's First HOMERUN!!

My sweet Houston hit his first ever homerun at Hubbertville!! Talk about screaming, acting like an idiot and peeing all over myself!! I LOVE to watch my boys do anything but LOVE watching them play ball. Amazed at how fast they catch on and I am always so proud of them. He was tickled to pieces but really tickled they finally won a game. 12-3!! Go Reds!!

OH YEAH, IT'S A HOMERUN!!

Houston at Hubb

Houston played at Hubb and did good. We lost 5-4, but they are definitely improving every game. He went 2 for 3 and actually paid attention to most of the game. The playground was calling his name, though. It was hard to focus on the field with a big twisty red slide waiting for you.:)

WHAT A GAME!!

Yes, you will definitely get tired of all my baseball posts, but can't help it. These are my memories here. Got to watch ALL of Levi's game and boy was it a game!! We were down 18-7. We were home team, so we had last bat. The boys came back and won it 19-18!!! I have never watched a game that exciting. Our Cardinals were beside themselves. Levi hit great! Fielded great too! The whole team played great! It was a wonderful game and proved that our boys NEVER give up. Josh is so proud of them, to say the least. Friday night, big Houston takes the field. Can't wait to watch his game, too!!

SO SWEET!! Levi looks VERY thankful!!:)

Isaac got his 1st homerun!! The boys were pumped!!

Houston's First Tooth

WHAT?!! Is it time for that already?! He was so tickled to have his Daddy pull it. The child never knew when it happened. Josh pulled it, showed it to him and WAH-LAH, that was that. "I did not feel a thing!!" So glad. He of course, put it under his pillow. Levi wanted me to pinky-promise that I wasn't the tooth fairy, so I quickly changed the subject, said our prayers and lights out! Whew! I don't how much longer I can pull all this off, but I want Houston to be able to enjoy things a little longer, with him being 2 years younger. The question Sunday night after church was, "Momma, pinky-promise me that you don't get up in the middle of the night and move our elves. You don't do you?" "No, I do not." That is no lie. I haven't got up "in the middle of the night" since I had newborns. That's the truth.:) My boys are experiencing lots of new, exciting things and I'm so happy they are growing and prospering. Who knew this thing called life would be so absolutely wonderful?!

Notice Levi trying to give bunny ears. The "eights" are already setting in! ha Also notice Houston's "Ice Cream Mustache", PePaw and MeMaw took us to get ice cream after chruch.

So sweet. Houston was so excited and I believe Levi was even more excited for him.

What a cutie-pa-tootie!!

First Games

The boys kicked off their season on Monday with both playing at Berry. Levi played at 6 PM. Houston at 6:30 PM. I got to watch Levi's first bat then took Houston to his field. Levi's team won 10-8 and Houston's team won 2nd!! They both did great.

Houston is NEW to the game of baseball. A little "distracted" with all the hoop-la going on around him, but did well considering. His team is made up of 10 little Reds and 2 have played before. INTERESTING, to say the least. The other team we played had 3 or 4 six year olds and several that had played. SO, not much of a match-up, but he enjoyed himself and that's all that matters.

Levi is NOT NEW to the game of baseball. I cannot believe that this is his 4th year to play!! He truly is a competitor and loves to bat. But don't they all?! He played the other Berry 7-8 yo team. His team is made up of 10 little Cardinals also with 2 only ever playing machine pitch before. But these boys are quick learners. They held their own against the other team who also had 3 3rd graders. GO CARDS!!

Looking forward to a wonderful season!! My heart was SO torn between the boys. I seriously thought I was going to have a little melt-down. I had to leave Levi's game very early to take Houston. Then I had to leave Houston's game to go back to the end of Levi's game to get pics and share in the birthday celebration. Houston was up to bat and I was SO certain he would need me there to cheer him on......well, he didn't. I just knew Levi would need me there to cheer him on as in years past or he just wouldn't be able to keep it together.....well, he didn't. LOVE these boys so much and don't want to miss a thing!! But thus is life. They need their space. I do to, but had rather not. I would like to also have their space too. A little selfish I know, but my heart beats with theirs. Anyway, enough moping and whining. I will survive and they will too. To a busy, healthy, safe and FUN baseball season!! Life is so good!!

Houston made sure we all noticed he got on base!

Practice Swing
"Ready Stance"
Pre-Game Pep Talk
Did you see that Momma?! He was all grins after he made it home.
Oh, to be a fly on the fence.
These boys are inseparable.
Just liked this one.
My little fellas'!

Levi's Birthday

What a wonderful day! Levi kicked his day off with "Donuts with Dad" and got checked out around 12!! Enjoyed the beautiful day and played his new XBOX 360 game with his new controller!! Had baseball pics at 4:45 and then his game began at 6PM. Houston played at 6:30 so Levi got to see a little bit of Houston's game. He had several birthday calls and visits. MeMaw, MawMaw and Grandaddy, MawMaw, Heather & even Baby Emma Kathryn, KirKir and Tucker, JJ, Eli and James, and KK were all at his game and caught some of Houston's game too!!

I had ordered some cute baseball cookies, from The Dessert Box, for after the game. The team enjoyed them and even gave him a "Cardinals Birthday Spanking"! What a blessing this child is to us and hope he lives to be at least "100"!! The world WILL be a much better place with him in it!! We LOVE you Levi!!

"Donuts with Dad"
The Birthday Boy leading "The Lord's Prayer" after the game. (I see you peeking, Isaac.)

The Cardinals serenaded Levi with "Happy Birthday"!

Team Birthday Spanking.

He LOVED his baseball cookies.
These were yummo!! Only problem~3 cookies and a Dr.Pepper for breakfast could lead to a major sugar high!!:) Ahh, we only live once!!
