First Games

The boys kicked off their season on Monday with both playing at Berry. Levi played at 6 PM. Houston at 6:30 PM. I got to watch Levi's first bat then took Houston to his field. Levi's team won 10-8 and Houston's team won 2nd!! They both did great.

Houston is NEW to the game of baseball. A little "distracted" with all the hoop-la going on around him, but did well considering. His team is made up of 10 little Reds and 2 have played before. INTERESTING, to say the least. The other team we played had 3 or 4 six year olds and several that had played. SO, not much of a match-up, but he enjoyed himself and that's all that matters.

Levi is NOT NEW to the game of baseball. I cannot believe that this is his 4th year to play!! He truly is a competitor and loves to bat. But don't they all?! He played the other Berry 7-8 yo team. His team is made up of 10 little Cardinals also with 2 only ever playing machine pitch before. But these boys are quick learners. They held their own against the other team who also had 3 3rd graders. GO CARDS!!

Looking forward to a wonderful season!! My heart was SO torn between the boys. I seriously thought I was going to have a little melt-down. I had to leave Levi's game very early to take Houston. Then I had to leave Houston's game to go back to the end of Levi's game to get pics and share in the birthday celebration. Houston was up to bat and I was SO certain he would need me there to cheer him on......well, he didn't. I just knew Levi would need me there to cheer him on as in years past or he just wouldn't be able to keep it together.....well, he didn't. LOVE these boys so much and don't want to miss a thing!! But thus is life. They need their space. I do to, but had rather not. I would like to also have their space too. A little selfish I know, but my heart beats with theirs. Anyway, enough moping and whining. I will survive and they will too. To a busy, healthy, safe and FUN baseball season!! Life is so good!!

Houston made sure we all noticed he got on base!

Pre-Game Pep Talk
Did you see that Momma?! He was all grins after he made it home.
Oh, to be a fly on the fence.
These boys are inseparable.
Just liked this one.
My little fellas'!
