FIRST FIELD TRIP

Levi took his first field trip to the big city of Fayette. He rode the school bus for the first time and thought it was the coolest thing. I thought to myself, if you only had to ride the bus from Flatwoods and down every dirt road between there and Berry, it would not be so cool, especially in the months of AUG-SEPT!HA He did enjoy the bus ride and the rest of the day. They started out at the Berry Post Office, then on to the Fayette Library, Fayette Police/Fire Dept., Fayette Park and back to the Fayette Police/Fire Dept. We had to come back to the Police Dept. because on arrival the first time, there were some wonderful handcuffed prisoners present! Yes, a great topic of discussion w/Kindergartners....and no fireman were present(LUNCH!) The children really did enjoy their day and were POOPED after the busy, hot day.
First Bus Ride

Best of Friends!

Houston thought he was as big as Levi, Isaac and Nic. His mouth is wide open, he ALWAYS has something to say.

He then learns to raise his hand and you can tell by the look on Levi's face that he's about had enough. Their so funny!

He found these earphones over by the beanbags. He was singing his own little song. Absolutely nothing was playing on the earphones.

Talking to the librarian about their pets.

He actually paused for a second to snap this.

Houston and Anna Grace taking a water break.

He was getting really tired by this point. Relaxing on the back of the fire truck.

In the fire truck passenger seat...... Brave firefighters letting all these little paws in their trucks!

"I'm gonna be a fire fighter Mommy!"...Shortly there after he screamed bloody murder when the horns and sirens sounded. Thank goodness he has a while to decide on a career.

They got to squirt the cars as they went by. They loved that!

At the end of the day, this smile says it all. "That was awesome, Mom!"

VBS 2008

Earlier this month, we had our VBS at church. Our theme for this year was, "BOOT CAMP". We really had a great time and a great turn-out. The LORD really blessed and everything went pretty smooth, except for starving children on Friday night, LOL! We had planned for pizzas to arrive around 7:00PM and we would dismiss by 8:30; pizzas arrived around 8:00PM and a few pizzas short of our original order but somehow the pizza was enough, we then just had starving staff! You know, sometimes you have to sacrifice for the little ones, as if it hurt ANY of us!! I guess all in all that was the only mix-up of the weekend. We had 144 on Fri. night and 134 on Saturday and we had LOTS OF FUN!! I hope we made a difference in just one child's life. Everyone worked sooo hard and I'm so thankful to be part of a wonderful church like ours!

We did a little nursery for our Mom's who helped work! Smallest class, BIGGEST handfull!

This was Levi and Houston's class. Yes, that is Houston crawling around like a wild animal!

Bonnie, Ashley and Raven took on the 7-8 year olds.

Mrs. Rhonda and Mrs. Gina handled the 9-11 year olds! WOW! There were lots of them!!

Wanda Kaye and Jimmy had the 12 yr.old and up class. We were really surprised and excited to see this many show up. We thought they might think they were too big, but they had a ball!

CONGRATS PIGEON & KALAH!

Today, the last of "The Gang" tied the knot. The ceremony was beautiful and Kalah was a beautiful bride. I'm so proud for them. Josh and I sang and the wedding was HUGE! She had "31" people on the stage w/them. Lots of family and friends, nothing wrong w/that. Keep them in your prayers and always say a little extra prayer for Jonathan because he has accepted the call to preach. I know GOD will take care of them and hope that their life will be blessed beyond measure! While we were getting ready, Houston wanted to know where his "Black Dress-up Clothes" were. "You know Mommy, the coat and the belt and the pants and the shoes". He meant a tux, but I explained you don't wear a tux to every wedding you go to, just the ones you're in. Bless his heart! We did get a little dressed up and took a few pics.

The three people closest to my heart!

Levi took this...He's getting pretty good at it!

KINDERGARTEN ROCKS!

Levi's class did this month's PTO program. The name of the program was "Kindergarten Rocks". They introduced themselves and let everyone know what they wanted to be when they grew up and of course, he and Isaac want to be football players. They then rocked out to a few of their favorite songs they had learned over the past year. It was really cute! I can't believe his first year of school is almost over. Before I know it, Houston will be starting, I don't how I'm gonna cope w/ that!

Does this look like Eli Manning to you? He sure thinks so.

The greatest influence Levi could've ever had in Kindergarten.

HAPPY 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY,BABY!

Who would've known that a little flirting while walking the halls before the bell rang would've led to this?! WOW! 6 yrs. of dating and now 10 yrs. of marriage and it just keeps getting better and better. I know with all my heart that GOD made you for me! I truly believe you would lay your life down for mine and a love like that is what GOD has ordained and it is found so rarely in this world today. No one else could ever fill your shoes. You and our sons are my world and my heart just grows bigger everyday!
Past, present and future......US!!
I LOVE YOU, BABY!

MOMMY...The Best Job in the World!!

Happy Mother's Day to all of our beautiful Mom's! I'm so blessed and thankful to have the most awesome calling on my life....being a MOM. Who knew that joy, love, and happiness could be bundled into something so small, precious and impressionable. My boys! Just that thought and statement could send me rambling for days. I truly pray that God will use them to better this world, one soul at a time. I feel that I am able to love and nurture them because of what was shared and expressed to me by my sweet mother. I am so thankful for the example she lived and continues to live before me everyday. In the words of Levi and Houston, "Mom, you're the best Mommy I've ever had!"

I wish so bad I could hold them like this just one more time.

A MOTHER’S WAGES
If I would charge one cent each time I washed my children's clothes,Or tied a shoe or gave a bath or wiped a runny nose,Or made a bed or acted as their judge or referee,
It would be possible that I could live in luxury.

If I were paid a nickel for each diaper that I've changed,For every Band-Aid I've applied when arms or legs were skinned,For every toy that I've picked up and put back in it's niche, There wouldn't be a single doubt-- Why, I could be quite rich.

If just one dime would be my fee for giving them a pill, For making meals and wiping up the milk they always spill, For matching scores of tiny socks, for fixing things that break,It wouldn't be too long before a fortune I would make.

Although it's true I don't receive a solitary cent,
I'm repaid in many ways for all the time I've spent.
Their smiles, their love is my reward for this unending care,
And I am richer, yes, by far than any millionaire!

MAY DAY '08

I cannot believe I attended my first May Day as a MOM! It's so hard to imagine that my boys are now enjoying some of the highlights of my childhood. Yes, I know, it's Berry Elementary how exciting can it be?! Ask them, they had a blast; just as I did as a child. Levi signed up for the 40 yd dash and piggy back race. Isaac was absent on Thur. w/ strep throat but came back for a little on Friday which made Levi feel he had a reason to compete. They almost cannot function alone. Houston was a trooper and hung right in there all day. K was responsible for the Popcorn booth so I worked that for a couple of hours and the boys got to run wild. They really enjoyed the moonwalk and tractor pull. Levi won 1st place in the 40 yd dash and he and Isaac opted out of the piggy back race. It was a hot, tiring, FUN day.

I've got the finish line in sight!

Run Forest, Run!

"I did it Mom!"

GOOD JOB GUYS!

"This is the best day of my life!" Houston said, after riding the tractor pull.

Reving up the motor!

Levi told Houston the ride lasted 4 hrs., he meant 4 mins.

MORE BASEBALL NEWS

We suffered our 1st loss on Thur. night to the Astros, 6-5. Bomber! They played so well and of course most of them didn't even realize we had lost, except for Levi. He tries so hard and is such a perfectionist at the ripe old age of 6. It was 2-0 in the 3rd inning and he hit a HR and we had 2 on base so we went up 3-2. But it went all down hill from there. They rallied back and went on to beat us 6-5. We of course tried to explain to those who take it seriously the usual, we tried our best, we can't win them all speech. So, a trip to the playground and an ice cream @ McDonalds was all it took to soothe the pain.
We played the Giants tonight and pulled it out, 8-7. The team did great and so did my little man. We have 2 games left until playoffs and then we can slow down for a little while. GO RED SOX!

ALABAMA Baseball

We took the boys to watch ALABAMA play auburn at The Joe on Sat. They had soooo much fun. We went w/ David, Susan, Ashley and Justin and we all had such a good time. We had lunch at Steamers, of course a hot dog or 2 and snacks at the game and grabbed supper at Jalepeno's on the way home. Levi seldom took his eyes off the field and Houston just waited for the next person to breathe the words "CONCESSION STAND". He took his own wallet I had no clue how much $ he had but I was pretty sure it couldn't be much. So, David went to get something and of course Houston wanted to go. He came back w/ the biggest smile on his face and a hot dog in his hand.
H: "Hey Mommy, hey Mommy, I buyed my own hot dog!"
A: "You did?!"
H: "Yep with my wallet!"(patting his pocket)
Then David and Justin round the corner and David is laughing.
The concession guy had asked Houston, what he would like.
H:"A hot dog."
CG: "That will be $3.25."
Houston pulls out his wallet, unzips the CHANGE pocket and gives him a quarter(25 to Houston)2 pennies and 1 nickel(3 to Houston) slides it to the counter and gives the concession guy a cute smile(like there you go, where's my hot dog?)
David said it was too cute, so the guy gets $3 from David and keeps the quarter then gives Houston his change back.
CG:"What are you gonna get w/the rest of this money?
H:"I think I'll put it in Bub's(Levi) piggy bank." How cute! The weather was great and so was the company!

RED SOX vs DODGERS

We played the Dodgers(Kevin Hill and John Files team)on Tues. night and pulled out a nail-biter winning 8-5. Kevin's little girl and son play and John's little girl Holly plays, Kevin's little girl had the chicken pox, so she wasn't there. I just love how our little team is improving every week and watch them get sooo excited when anybody on their team gets on base. Levi was 3for3 and did a great job fielding also. It was so cute, Levi plays shortstop and Chase plays 3rd base. They were walking out to their places and were in a deep conversation about something and then Levi gives Chase a slap on the bootie as they separate to their positions. He already grabs his crotch and now is slapping other guys on the butt, do we have a professional on our hands?

Future Scouts of America

Poppy had a great idea Monday...let's have a wiener roast! The weather was just right! We had practice and when we got home, Poppy had the fire going and all the supplies ready. The boys had a blast! We had hot dogs, beans and chips and no clean-up, we just burnt the dishes. The boys loved the idea of "roughin' it" as Levi said and Houston loved the idea of food! That's my boy! We got home and got them ready for bed. I laid down by them and I normally don't wash my hair at night but the boys let me know real fast that my hair "stunk" and "smelt like cigirats". Gotta love 'em!Thanks Pop, it was a lot of FUN!

Future Farmers of America

The boys love to be outside and any form of dirt, so only makes sense they would enojoy gardening. They have already planted cabbage and onions w/ Grandaddy and now have helped Poppy with squash, okra and corn. We hope to enjoy the crop soon!

This would be "Bob #2". Last year, they named the scarecrow Bob so they decided this year he would be "Bob #2". However, last Sunday, Houston did mistake the scarecrow for Poppy. We drove up after church to eat lunch and Houston said "Look, Pop's in the garden!"

RED SOX vs ORIOLES

We played the Orioles on Thurs. 4/24/08 and won 5-0. Levi did great and was 2for2! They keep surprising us! We are so proud of our little team and a special thanks to all the parents for being so dedicated!
